Our Mission Statement

To encourage and foster professionalism within the workplace; to provide an environment in which we strive to achieve a high level of individual excellence through education and other activities that promote personal and professional growth and advancement; and to create an environment that facilitates the exchange of ideas, which help to empower all secretaries employed by the County of Los Angeles.

History

In 1969, under the auspice of the Los Angeles County Management Council, and approved by the Board of Supervisors, the Los Angeles County Secretarial Council was organized to:

  1. Disseminate information and determine the values which shape the secretarial service in County government; and
  2. Encourage the development of Secretaries whose quality, competence, and commitment are an essential element in County Service.

The Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Secretarial Council is comprised of 12 members.  These members are nominated and elected in September by the Members-at-Large.

The Board of Directors annually elects the officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Current Board of Directors

 

 

The Board meets monthly to:

  • Develop training programs to assist secretaries to gain more knowledge and skills, thereby giving them the tools to advance higher in their chosen profession; and
  • Discuss current issues affecting secretaries working for Los Angeles County.
